Farm Director (Based in Johor Bahru, 12 months Contract - Renewable)
Lead, direct and control the activities of the Company so that it achieves its short and long-term financial and operating objectives as set by the overall corporate business plan. Establish policies and procedures for the farm based on overall vision, direction and strategy set by board of directors.
- Establish, monitor and evaluate the business performance indices of the farm such as production stability, product quality, resource use efficiency, cost control, sales revenue, profits and cashflow.
- Coordinate production planning with sales pipeline to ensure production target and quality are met. Develop risk management and mitigation measures to deal with operational uncertainties.
- Propose, implement and refine new measures to improve business performance indices.
- Lead, recruit, and develop an operations team along with roles and responsibilities to ensure that the organisation achieves it business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws.
- Develop and optimise day-to-day operations and processes.
- Develop internal capabilities and knowledge base of the team through learning from suppliers and other in-house resources.
- Minimum Degree in Engineering, Science or Business
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in the senior management role.
- Dealt with all levels of employees from workers to degree holders to senior management
- Experience in a food-related production operations
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
- This position will be based in Malaysia, with the primary work location in Johor Bahru
- Experience as a General Manager overseeing, monitoring, and evaluating business performance will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in the agri-tech or agriculture industry operations will be an advantage.
Sales Manager (Experience in Fresh Produce)
This role is responsible for driving and managing sales for Archisen’s vegetable products. The candidate will provide leadership and direction to the team, aligning marketing and product development efforts with industry trends and executing them alongside the sales team.
Key responsibilities include developing sales strategies, forecasting revenue, ensuring profit growth, and overseeing market analysis and pricing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics, enabling them to make data-driven decisions that drive business growth.
- Contribute to the overall strategy of Just Produce, supporting its long-term growth and positioning within the industry.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share, drive revenue, and strengthen customer relationships.
- Set and achieve revenue targets, manage budgets, and track key performance metrics.
- Provide leadership to the Sales team, implementing frameworks and processes such as the sales pipeline and pricing master list to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs, pursue new sales prospects, negotiate deals, and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Farming teams to align production, inventory management, and sales fulfillment.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in business development, sales, and marketing with a strong focus on product knowledge.
- Experience working in startups and local companies.
- Proven ability to drive sales and manage key accounts within Modern Trade channels, while also having experience coordinating with other channels such as HORECA, Online Retail, B2B, and B2C
- Strong ability to deliver compelling sales pitches and product presentations.
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and implement best practices in the absence of set policies or procedures.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-cultural teams.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Senior Farm Systems / Farm Systems Engineer
As a Farm Systems Engineer in the Farm Technology department, you will be supporting technological aspects of the consultancy, design, build and operations and urban farms, with a focus on farm engineering. You will be collaborating with Archians in sales, project management, farm management and research & technology to deliver impactful agricultural solutions to our clients and partners.
- Support technological aspects on the design, build and operations of farms, with a focus on farm engineering. Provide ground support at all stages of our solutions.
- Develop proposals for the deployment of farm solutions.
- Design and conduct experiments to test ideas and solutions.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the performance of farms and farming operations.
- Develop novel farm solutions.
- Evaluate and build relationships with suppliers.
- Advise and consult clients.
- Degree/Masters in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
- Excellent at integrating knowledge and skills from multiple domains to create solutions
- Good scientific and/or engineering skills (literature review, hypothesis formulation, experiment design, data analysis)
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work well with people from different departments and seniority
- Able to understand and internalise technical knowledge.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
- Willing to undertake short-term overseas deployments to client farms when necessary
